I came across a review site that features an array of very useful tool called ‘bookmarklets’ that you can use for your Mafia Wars’ strategic gaming pleasure. Here are the the basics you should have:

Add to Mafia	Use this to add a friend who also plays Mafia Wars. Visit their Facebook profile page and then click “Add to Mafia”. The page should now say “Adding user with id `nnn`…” and then go right into Mafia Wars. Then the person should be added to your mafia, and Mafia Wars will say that the person has been added. Your mafia count, however, is not immediately updated.Note: You have to be Facebook friends with the person you’re adding for this to work. After adding the person to your mafia, you can safely remove the person as your Facebook friend, if you want.
Add to Mafia: NW	Add to Mafia in a new window – like the above, but opens up your link in a new window.
Add and Remove	Add to Mafia in a new window, then open up the “Remove Friend” dialog. For the serious fast-adder.
Switch Profile	Use this to switch between a person’s Facebook profile and their Mafia Wars profile. It also works from an “add friend”-page, such as this. However, it does not work from your own Mafia Wars profile.
Action	Toolbar full? Here’s the one bookmarklet to cover them all. Use it on a person’s profile page, then select action!
Promote	Use this to add someone to your Top Mafia.
Attack	Use this to attack someone.
Punch	Use this to punch someone in the face.
Hitlist	Use this to hitlist someone. It’s also useful to see if the person has already been killed, without spending a stamina point.
Rob	Use this to open up the page where you can rob this person’s properties.
Give Help	Use this to give this person help on a job. Don’t be late!
Send Energy	Use this to send energy to this person. If the person already got energy within 24 hours, you will just get a Mafia Wars screen.
Gift	Use this to give a collection item or loot item to someone. This takes you to a page on heartrate.se where you can choose a gift to give to that person. If you’d rather type in the ID yourself than use the bookmarklet, just go here.

Install the bookmarklets you want by dragging them to your bookmarks toolbar. (If you’re using Internet Explorer, dragging doesn’t seem to work. Instead, right-click on the link and then choose “Add to favorites”.

If you have a relatively sized mafia family, chances are you will do better in fights and access the families’ weapons. It is very advantageous for one to have a number of facebook friends who play Mafia wars. So, how can you grow your mafia family more? Here’s how -

One good way for a player to grow their Mafia family is to ask for other family members’ help. They will typically post the requesting member their own home page. Players can then send a friend request to that person. Once the invite is accepted, they can add these players to their family.

One of the best ways for a player to attract a lot of Mafia Wars players is to add their name to the Mafia Wars Recruitment Center (MWRC). Players that add their name to the MWRC’s wall usually get a lot of friend requests immediately. Keep in mind that any postings to the Recruitment Center wall also get posted to the Home Page. Doing this too frequently may annoy other players and non-playing friends alike. Posting strategically is the key.

Last thing are fan clubs and groups. It’s a surefire way to generate a whole bunch of friend requests from other Mafia wars players. Players can easily join in and will start to receive requests immediately. Your continuous hanging out on groups and fan clubs will probably generate a large family for players.

Now that you have the basics on how to add more members to grow your mafia, all you have to do is to implement it!

At this juncture, you must start with your Mafia Wars member recruitment. To build a formidable Mafia family, you also need strong and competent Mafia members. You must do all you can to be able to recruit your initial 501 mafia members. Why add more mafia members? The answer is but simple : the bigger your mafia, the more weapons and vehicles you can bring into a fight. Basically, you can start inviting friends on your list to join your Mafia, however this can be a very slow and time-consuming process, since in all truth, not all your friends are interested in joining.
